I still actually have a ways to go in catching up with certain titles that fell off the radar for me in the last several years. William Kaufman's small scale 2010 film Sinners And Saints is one of them, especially after managing to snag a few viewings of his 2005 killer thriller, The Prodigy, which absolutely impressed me.

Assuredly, I'm not the last one to gush about Kaufman's work. Leave it to screenwriter Chad Law who knows a lot better and more having gotten in as many as four projects with the director while they now prepare for their fifth pairing, Sinners And Saints: Vengeance, which goes before cameras very soon with Johnny Strong and Scott Adkins first to front the casting.

It's early in the process for the film but the goal is reportedly to furbish it as an ample reboot with franchise potential which Law envisions our latest interview. Gladly, he also shares personal thoughts and ruminations on his own origins, film, the trade and his camaraderie with fellow…

ESCAPE PLAN 3: DEVIL'S STATION: Stallone Welcomes Fans To 'Club Dead' As Production Starts; Bautista And Zhang, More Added To Cast

Still to the surprise of many is the forthcoming second installment of the Escape Plan trilogy - Steven C. Miller's Escape Plan 2: Hades, following Mikael Håfström's initial 2013 hit pairing Sylvester Stallone with Arnold Schwarzenegger. A third was announced back in April and news this week now confirms the start of principal photography for upcoming threequel, Escape Plan 3: Devil's Station with Death And Life Of Bobby Z and 15 Minutes director John Herzfeld at the helm.
The new movie sees Stallone and actor Dave Bautista reprising their roles from a script by Herzfeld and screenwriter Miles Chapman which sees the two pairing up once again to break out one of their own from an inescapable prison. The two will be joined on screen by actor and martial artist Max Zhang whose credits span various facets in film from stunt double to principal actor with credits such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Soi Cheng's S.P.L. 2: A Time For Conseuqences (a.k.a. Kill Zone 2), and…

The Official Trailer For ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE Attacks The Undead With Song, Dance And Holiday Cheer!

Not to be undone by its own recent internal misgivings, Fantastic Fest is embracing its week-long run starting tomorrow with its usual diverse, wacky, bizzare and enthralling line-up of great titles from around the world. Jon McPhail's latest comes from Scotland with Friday's forthcoming festival premiere in tow for Anna And The Apocalypse which stars Ella Hunt in the title role with more on the film from former festival programmer Todd Brown: Teenage Anna's life is typical enough. Chafing against the narrow horizons of her small town, she dreams of bigger things. It's not so much that she doesn't love her friends and family — she does — it's just that they're all so... familiar. So typical. So predictable. Her childhood best friend aches for a romance that she has no interest in, no matter how close they might be. The school jock that she had a fling with is proving to be disappointingly predictable in his behavior. And it's becoming progressively hard…

Marvel's THE PUNISHER Will Blow You Away In The Official Netflix Series Trailer

Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson all did ample work in their theatrical portrayal of hit comic book character, Frank Castle and his titular alter-ego, The Punisher, hailing from its comic book roots in 1974. If actor Jon Bernthal shares the same prospects any, I wouldn't mind in the least, and I can't complain at all either with the current progress being made at Netflix.
The 40 year old actor and co-star of The Accountant, Baby Driver and Pilgrimage brought freshness to his fervor in the role for last year's two-hander next to Charlie Cox in the second season of Daredevil; A psychologically-splintered soul sparked by raw killing instinct and a tramuatized mental state that keeps him in fight-or-flight mode, this iteration of the dark, skull-bearing, heavily-armed comic book hero has only gotten better and better since then, and thanks in part to a viral campaign ripe with blacked-out tweets and videos adding layers on layers to the intrigue and mystery of wh…

WB Pictures Brings Taika Watiti To The Negotiating Table For AKIRA

Years of rotating may have finally come to a halt for the revolving door of directors in the wake of the longstanding live-action development of hit 1982 manga and Toho's subequent '88 OVA, Akira. Its prospects now reportedly lie with current talks between Warner Bros. and director/actor Taika Waititi with the goal of making two films centered on three installments of Kodansha's six volumes series.

Created by Otomo Katsuhiro who shephered the 1988 feature film from Toho, the story centers on two members of a biker gang, childhood friends Kaneda and Tetsuo, living in post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo who find themselves embroiled in government corruption and secrecy when a military experiment turns Tetsuo into a psionic madman. Akira is long considered a staple of Japanese science fiction, cyberpunk and action entertainment culture, in addition to adding to much of Otomo's acclaim as one of the most prolific innovators in the world of film and entertainment.

Watiti's name…

Hamilton's return will mark her first foray back into the franchise since starring in Cameron's 1984 hit sci-fi thriller with Schwarzenegger and actor Michael Biehn and its sequel in which Robert Patrick also stars. Cameron had a hand in writing both movies in which the actress stars as Sarah Connor, a waitress whose chance meeting with a soldier from the future and their first confrontation with a killer cybernetic assassin from the future…

TOMB RAIDER: Alicia Vikander Takes The Reigns In The Official Trailer

The last 24 hours or so have been a mild mix of exciting and irksome with some fans exhibiting worry over The Wave helmer Roar Uthaug's latest game adaptation, Tomb Raider. Angelina Jolie's own performances falls somewhat memorable for most fans and we've yet to see what actress Alicia Vikander's own portrayal will bring to the masses, save for a few stills and a trailer tease that went viral on Monday.

Personally, I think the reactions emerging so soon could do for some furthet waiting.
