STREET FIGHTER: WORLD WARRIOR Is Back In Development For A Series Adaptation

The last eight years have been some of the most electric for fans of Capcom's Street Fighter game franchise. Actor and martial artist Joey Ansah's hit webseries, Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist and its included feature film edit were an epic delight that showed the world that adapting a fighting game into live-action was possible.
Sadly, any news of a follow-up season with the announced Street Fighter: World Warrior program would land in limbo with Machinima holding all the cards at the time leading up to the go90 rollout of Street Fighter: Resurrection. It was an interesting segue but it left a lot of fans outside North America feeling excluded as go90 didn't brought cast the show anywhere else.
I can't speak fully on what happened thereafter save for my own hopes that Ansah's vision would fully come to pass as quiet as things have been. Thankfully, and to the delightful shock of many, trade news sources are now running with word followed-up at Deadline that …

The jury is still out on whether filmmaker, Director X., can build on the iconic, cult success of Gordon Parks Jr.'s blaxploitation crime drama, Superfly. The goal of echoing and iterating many of the themes shared in the original pertaining to one's chase of the American dream through the hurdles of criminal underpinnings is something the noted helmer explicitly mused over going into the film's announcement and production, attributing a more modern take on the Sig Shore-produced classic.

The Official Trailer For YouTube Red Series COBRA KAI Kicks Nostalgia In The Face

Weeks and weeks of short teasers and promos now bring netizens in full view of the official trailer for YouTube Red series, Cobra Kai. The first few seconds feel like a tiny spoiler if you have a keen eye and sense in comparing the footage to that of the original film, but what ensues is a raft of reasons to get into the narrative.
Roles swap in this new installment with actor Ralph Macchio taking on a more antagonistic persona for the show opposite William Zabka whose own arc is the crux of the series. Homages to the past film franchise are abound in addition to a fresher blood for this latest spin-off which also hails the emegence of actor Xolo Maridueña in a role that clearly echoes that of Macchio's in 1984. These ought to give way to understanding the mechanisms behind what drives this show ahead and otherwise seemingly invokes a little more than nostalgia to get people plugged in for the show's May 2 premiere date.
In the highly-anticipated return of two iconic characters,…
